Glimpses @ Brabourne Farm

.

This beautiful throw was knitted by a friend as a house warming present - it took her months! It's just exquisite and one of my very favourite things.

Mr Brabourne's Easter baking .... yum yum!

The last of the summer roses.

Bookish Pleasures

If you're like me, you probably have piles of books in almost every room of your house — I'm getting to the stage where really I need to start editing my collection, but this can be very difficult because to me it feels like parting with old friends.

I love bookcases packed full of beautiful books - hardcovers, paperbacks, rare first editions .... the list is endless! What's the saying - "you can never be too thin, too rich or have too many silk shirts"; my take - "you can never be too thin, too rich or have have too many books".

Vibrant Touches

Although my days of bright colours are far behind, it's still nice to see what other people are doing with colour. I think all these rooms are lovely but I definitely couldn't live with them for very long!

Cupboard Love

Old hand-painted cupboards are such a lovely addition to any room. These pieces of wooden furniture are simple and beautiful things that have endless uses. I especially love the top cupboard that is painted duck egg blue inside - it's a lovely contrast to the outside white and highlights the collection of lovelies inside.
