Top Shelf

I love plate racks and dressers.  Why hide away all your fabulous dinnerware - it's too lovely to be hidden!

  1. I love open shelves, too. But when we built our dream home out in the country I discovered how very much dust would accumulate on open shelves - quickly and repeatedly! Unless I want to spend my life cleaning , only a very few pieces stay out on the open shelves with most of my china and vases behind cupboard doors(sigh).

  2. How beautiful white china is! It really looks nice when they are all together like that.
I don't have open shelves because like Linda said, they can hold a lot of dust. But they are sure beautiful!

  3. I adore the look of open shelving, the first and fifth photos are simply stunning. It makes the room appear much larger to me instead of an enclosed cabinet.

  9. We worked in open shelves when we remodeled the kitchen...and even though our space is tight, I love the display area. My sweetie's late mother was a potter, and we usually have her handiwork on display. smiles.

  15. oh I looove open shelving... but what do you do with the dust? maybe a good alternative could be glass doors? I know it's not the same, but can help to keep dust a bit away. don't you think, darling?

  18. Does anyone know if the plates in the first photo (with the framed sofa underneath) are vintage ironstone or something new that I have yet to discover? THANKS!
