Memories ....

One of the things that I think I've found so enjoyable about my daily read of The House That A-M Built (apart from the obvious that it's a really beautiful blog) is that it's brought back so many memories of building Brabourne Farm. Some days I'm sure I can smell that strange smell new builds have - cement, plaster .... if I close my eyes I'm there! What's also good is being able to look at it from a distance - I realise that I've forgotten the nightmare elements and that feeling of why on earth did we do this, are we crazy? Hang in there A-M it really is worth all the angst!

  1. How kindred Leigh! I was just compiling my Monday Bed Post for tomorrow, featuring Brabourne Farm!, at just about the time you posted this post. We must have been thinking of each other this lovely, peaceful (my youngest is having a sleep over at Gran's) Sunday morning. I look to your gorgeous blog for inspiration and confirmation that I will eventually 'get there'. Hubby and I are online this morning researching gates and driveways... not so glamorous but it's still fun. I do hope that I forget the 'nightmare elements' in the future and grow to love my place as a home rather than just a 'project'. (My structural problems have kept me detached from it at this stage). I love the detailing and panelling in your home. Your interior design is exactly my taste. You have such a flair. You're my first port of call, for inspiration, every morning! A-M xx
