Through the Looking Glass

I'm mad about convex mirrors at the moment - I would love to find a large one for our sitting room. Did you know that these mirrors were used by butlers in English and American dining rooms to view the entire room whilst remaining out of sight .... after I find the mirror I guess I'll have to start the search for Jeeves!

  2. Oh you have some fantastic options here! I am currently debating between a convex mirror (the revolutionary one) something more like the Sunburst mirror for our dining room.

  3. I love your post on convex mirrors. After being on a mad search for a large convex mirror (44" or more) I found a new one (who knew I could be smitten by a new mirror) in Toronto at a fabulous shop called AT. The frame was off white and it now hangs above the mantel in a room with a vaulted beamed ceiling in Texas. I love the way the convex mirror picks up the room and ceiling in mini size.

  5. I too am fond of these mirrors. I see them popping up everywhere & they look fabulous. I am crazy for the Federal Style too with the eagle. I found a large one on ebay & painted it an high gloss orange for a guest room. Hope you find your treasure soon & if you find a Jeeves, can you loan him out to me @ times too?!

  10. I too am obessed with these mirrors. I have three! Several of these photos are so my style - especially the 2nd, 5th, 6th. They're going in my good idea file!

I have so much catching up to do on your blog! Just not enough time to do it all at once!
