. What do friends and family see when you open your front door - a beautiful hall table, coat rack, fresh flowers, umbrella stand, a lovely lamp? Does this oh so important part of your house say welcome?

I'm in the process of redoing my entry way right now. It was really sort of plain and boring. I want it to be very dramatic so i'm using a graphic wallpaper in teal and cream on the upper half of one wall. The bottom half is wood so I am painting and distressing it in the same teal color. I'll use a half round table and a vintage mirror on that wall and a large painting on the other wall to balance everything out. I've also hung curtains from the ceiling at the end of the entryway. LOTS of drama! ;)
ReplyDeleteA very important part of any house. You know what they say about first impressions...
ReplyDeleteYou only have one chance to make a first impression and these are all stunning....

We have just decorated three rooms and were looking at the hall this evening and wondering if it, too, needed a bit of a make over. Lots of lovely inspiration here, Leigh, but I think that we will leave ours for a little while longer.

All are excellent first impressions. I wouldn't want to leave :-)
ReplyDeleteFunny, my most recent post is about my foyer makeover. I would love to have the high ceilings in most of these pics but you have to work with what you've got right?! Some have suggested I paint my console white, would appreciate your valued opinion Leigh :o)

I just did a post this week about entryways as well - I just LOVE the entryway - my favorite part of the house! These photos are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteAt the moment Leigh, our visitors see my entire new bathroom still sitting in all the packing boxes waiting for MOTH! Yes, progress has been non-existent of late, but the plasterboard went up yesterday, so I see a faint glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel! After the boxes dissapear, then I can get to & regig the Entry Hall back to what it should really be!
