Trunk Calls

A lovely alternative to a coffee table!  If you see one of these beautiful old things in an antique shop, grab it .... they're getting so hard to find.

  1. Lovely trunks, especially the LV Trunk - it is worth a fortune, too. We have a great Indian iron one in our store at the moment, I love it. It is so full of character. But I agree, definitely getting hard to find!

  2. I agree Leigh, they are beautiful and hard to find. I was lucky and was given a gorgeous red and black leather one from the 20's by my grandparents neighbours.

  4. I adore an antique trunk used as a coffee table - beautiful and functional. Happy weekend...

  5. My husband's old boarding school trunk has been displayed and used in various ways over the years. It's a bit battered, but has a lot of character (and some interesting doodles and notes written inside the lid!).

  6. I don't know Leigh...I am thinking you have a mighty fine collection of trunks here. I have a weakness for anything with a lid! These are fantastic. I only wish that the two trunks in our garage filled with Mr. H's childhood comic books and other assorted goodies were half as nice! The LV is beautiful but the last photo gets my vote :)

Best wishes for a wonderful weekend xxx

  7. When I was newly married and had a nice big sofa but no coffee table, we used an old wicker trunk. I wish mine had been LV :)
