The Luxury of Time

Aren't these big old clocks fabulous?  They've become very hard to find but well worth the search - one day the right one will find its way to me!

  1. I just love the look of clocks. But I'm one of those strange people who can't stand to hear one ticking. I couldn't bear a cuckoo clock! So if I buy a clock (that's for more than looks) and it ticks, it has to go or stop working.

  8. Oh I love all of them... the more aged, the more beautiful. I am a bit addicted to clocks... I have one in every room so I never have to get up and leave what I am doing to see the time.... little clocks hiding here and there... you can hardly even notice some of them... almost like a "where's wally" puzzle really. A-M xx

  12. * You've shared some super-looking clocks here~~~ LOVE 'EM!!!

We bought a wonderful old "Grandfather clock" while living in Europe, in the 70's (Yes I KNOW! Before some/many (?) of these readers were even BORN! I married young tho... I was 3!!!)~~~

ANYHOOOO, we got used to the ticking very quickly, but NOT the chimes on every hour... Oh, that was just soooooooo annoying, especially during the night when sleeping!!! Soooo, we just stopped the pendulum (sp?), which meant we never even got to know what TIME it was for all the $$$!!! .....Sold it years later & mannnny times have regretted it... it WAS a pine, dutch beauty... dumb, Linda, DUMB!!!

    Thanks,
    Linda in AZ *

  17. Lovely clocks, Leigh! I saw a feature once on a man who lived in an old clock tower in New York. He actually lived behind the face. I have fantasized ever since about how amazing that would be. These photos call all those fantasies back up for me! xo Gigi
