Walking the Halls

Is your hall beautiful and interesting like these or is it an area that could do with just a little bit of tlc?  Hallways often seem to be one of the least styled areas in a house - I wonder why?

  7. Leigh...love all of these images...just gorgeous...I agree...most people dont really pay much attention to this area of the home..but should because its like having a sneak peak of what the rest of the home beholds...and such an easy area to jazz up..with a simple table..some candles..a vase of flowers..a beautiful painting or mirror..just love these images. x

  9. Oh these are dreadful (just kidding!). I have a long hallway, but it's so boring - well the kids love skidding up and down along it haha. Maybe it needs a facelift - thanks for the inspiration!

  11. I agree, Leigh! So often they are such a missed opportunity! Hallways are a great place to experiment with bold color or patterns on the walls because it lends drama and you won't tire of it as quickly as you would in a living or dining room since you don't linger in the hall. We don't have any hallways in the cottage or in the loft, but in my next house I'd love to have a hallway wide enough for bookcases in order to create a mini library on the way to the real library.

  15. Gorgeous halls! Ours are very narrow, being antique so I keep them unadorned and simple- a sorbet if you will for the rest of the house!
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season Leigh!
