I love shutters! If you've been following this blog you may have noticed that all the french doors here at Brabourne Farm (see Image 3) have shutters - they are wonderful in summer for keeping the house cool, warm in winter and most importantly, look beautiful!

Your photo is my favorite! I love the look of french doors with shutters. You don't see it often here in the states, except for the coastal areas.

I have always loved shutters. I was so glad when we got to add them to our bedroom many years ago and then last year to the dining room and front living room. So much prettier than blinds. I love your room photo.

ReplyDeleteI have a set of VERY old 1/2 window shutters I salvaged so many years ago...I have forgotten where. They are in my kitchen window with lace curtains at the top of the window...and I love them...every season...any time of day or night, whatever the weather!
They're all soooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting my blog - what was I thinking posting those daggy photos of myself!! Have a lovely week :)
Hi Leigh! Like so many of us, I love shutters too! I would love to put them on our new house, but have a feeling they wouldn't really suit this little place in suburbia... Might wait till the next house :) Have a great Tuesday xo Louise

I really like working shutters. I am wondering what is your ?westies? name?
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post. I am in the process of changing my window treatments in my great room and I've come to the conclusion the shutters would be the best fit. Will definitely have to catalogue this post.
ReplyDeleteWe put white shutters in our home last year. Best thing we have done so far!

ReplyDeleteShutters have such wonderful clean lines. Alas the red dust here would soon win the battle! Next house absolutely and NO curtains, unless they are muslin!
ReplyDeleteOooooh your room is so pretty and I love how you photographed showing the flowers in the foreground. And the title of your post is so clever! ~Lili
ReplyDeleteLove these, especially your home!
ReplyDeleteI like your vision about house life style, that makes your blog absolutely indispensable!
