Bits + Pieces at Brabourne Farm

New bedside lamps in one of our guest bedrooms - they're red!!!!! And I love them - maybe this could be the start of a bit of colour at Brabourne Farm.

This old wardrobe in the other guestroom is finally finished (I forgot to take before photos).  I had it painted white, removed the wooden panels from the door, replaced them with glass and then lined them with toille.

New limed-oak lamps - not as exciting as the red but they suit the room.

The black lampshades arrived this week for the entry hall - the next task is to find something for the wall.   I don't quite know what I'm looking for .... a very large mirror, painting, a big clock face, a lovely old window .... hopefully the search will soon come to an end!

Enjoy your Saturday - I'm mowing and clearing out overgrown veggie patches!

  6. Hi Leigh, Always love seeing pictures of your beautiful home! And of course, your cute sweetie pies...who did very well sitting still for the picture. We have yard work to do this weekend as well - it's hard work but it feels so good to get it done (and to dig in the dirt too)! xoTrina

  11. Love your look. In the market right now for the same blue paisley fabric on your pillows. Little trick I learned from friend when shooting inside is bring in more lights, even ugly spot lights and bounce the light off of the ceilings but from behind you. I enjoy seeing your home and all of your images, gives me a rush. Have a great weekend. Love, Heidi

  16. Oh Leigh, they look wonderful. Red and yellow, my favourite combination! I think any quest will love staying in your room. The pillows are perfect.
Love the simplicity of the items placed with the black lamps. I bet you get some great suggestions from your readers.
I am hopeless at these things...can never make up my mind. I always give up and get a decorator in..
You have such great taste I am sure it will come together soon. I would find a nice comfortable spot after weeding your veggie patch, grab a stack of magazines and start the search.
    Have fun!
