I have a study with book shelves on two walls floor to ceiling. I struggle with making it look good. It is full of books but does not look chic like these rooms. I must work on it. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Leigh, I was about to ask when I saw your post how your study is coming along. I'm looking forward to being inspired..We are still trying to find a carpenter to put up one wall so that we can have our study...Rachaelxx
I know your study will be beautiful, just as the rest of your home is! I have always wanted a room with bookshelves and a gorgeous rolling library ladder! One day!
Well, hello! My first time here (I must have been sleeping under a rock..). The headline about study style brought me here today. I am on the hunt for inspiration pictures for my friend Bianca's new home. We have the architect on our side - if we only can convince her husband...
I am saving your entire post! LOVE the ladder in the first image!
I think it would be so lovely to have a library wall like any of these images - makes a place feel so homely. I am SO behind on your posts Leigh - must catch up on the weekend. Hope you're having a lovely day x
Very inspiring pictures thank you. Isn't it wonderful how calming surrounded by books one is.. looking forward to you sharing your study. enjoy doing it. Colette x
You lucky thing!!! These are all great images Leigh. I love tall bookshelves...deep ones too. Even better if I can get sculptures and photographs in there too. That second photo looks so cozy and the last one is perfect...actually I love them all! Good luck with your project!
Jeanne :)
PS.. I posted photos from the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show here: http://jeanne-findingmyway.blogspot.com/2010/07/rhs-hampton-court-palace-flower-show.html
It was fun but I think the Chelsea Flower Show will always be my favourite :)
I am not sure if eblogger is having a problem with comments, but I will try again. I study your blog every day :) I am brimming with ideas for my new home , gotten from reading your blog as well as some other wonderful design blogs. You do yours so well. Thank you. We are planning a wall of bookcases in our dining room. One whole wall, so this is especially interesting for me .. I think ours will look like the 5th photo, with the area at the bottom for storage. We will need a ladder too if we do it all the way up, so maybe we will only put baskets or porcelains up there.. I will keep watching and reading and see what else I figure out :)
Hola!! Las fotos que has puesto de estudios son una magnifica inspiraciĆ³n.

I loved, loved #4! The cathedral ceiling adds a lot of charm to the place.

ReplyDeleteHow great would it be to have a study with a sliding ladder? I would put all the best books up high so I could play on the ladder all day! xo

ReplyDeleteLovely photos. The second one really got me -- it looks so cozy. But as far as I'm concerned, I'll take any room with lots of books.

I love the 3rd one from the top with red walls visible behind the bookcases!
