Don't you think vintage wooden, leather and wicker trunks make lovely coffee tables. Not only are they beautiful, mysterious, old things that look wonderful in any room, they also give you so much extra storage.

That's a lovely trunk you have there my dear!!
ReplyDeleteSome lovely choices here. I agree they are beautiful and mysterious and conjure up thoughts of travel, adventure and faraway places. Just perfect. Have a great week Leigh.. Julie
Oh, these trunks are wonderful. I love trunks.... and all of these are so lovely, Leigh. We are decorating, at the moment and you are giving me so many ideas. I just love your style, and you are so inspirational. Thanks so much. XXXX
ReplyDeleteYou're soo right! they do make nice coffee tables. Love the 3rd and 5th pics.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, dear Leigh!

Beautiful! I so love trunks--full of mystery! Those last two photos are especially wonderful. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI used to collect old trunks, they are simply gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I don't think my comment "took." Great photos- especially like the third one. If I ever were to have a Vuitton bag, I'd prefer it actually be one of their antique trunks!
ReplyDeleteI love it! They add so much character to a room...

I love old trunks. I have an old wooden one I found for a song that I sometimes use as a coffee table.
ReplyDeleteAll of those trunks are so gorgeous! My Mum has one that she inherited from her Grandma, which is leather half covered in old travel stamps and stickers. Cant wait till I can talk her into giving it to me!
ReplyDeletecheers
Yes I do...particularly the one in the last picture, xv.
ReplyDeleteGreat storage and they add special touch to any interior.

Oh I totally agree.
ReplyDeleteMy nana has given me a very big carved wooden chest from England. It's hundreds of years old apparently. I just adore it ... if only it could talk.

Hi Leigh, these are again great pictures!
ReplyDeleteI also have an old trunk from my great-grandfather, and use them as a shoe cabinet ... Sometimes I imagine what was hidden in it?

Love all these images!!!
ReplyDeleteLeigh, I second that. I love that they have substance, history & yes, storage. I like a coffee table that you can put your feet on or not worry about coasters. My parents bought a beautiful copper topped table & my dad practically stands over it when you are at their home, to make sure no one puts a glass or plate near it. It's lovely, but not very user friendly, if you get my drift! Hope your week is off to a great start ~ xx
ReplyDeleteThirty years ago, when I was a very young mother, I preferred trunks as coffee tables. Still love them as such today. Storage and elegance in one!

I love the Chinese camphor wood trunk with the lilacs on top. Beautiful timeless look. We have had so many customers purchase these from us and decent antique ones like this are getting hard to find.
