In the Trunk

.
Don't you think vintage wooden, leather and wicker trunks make lovely coffee tables. Not only are they beautiful, mysterious, old things that look wonderful in any room, they also give you so much extra storage.

Some lovely choices here. I agree they are beautiful and mysterious and conjure up thoughts of travel, adventure and faraway places. Just perfect. Have a great week Leigh.. Julie

  6. Sadly, I don't think my comment "took." Great photos- especially like the third one. If I ever were to have a Vuitton bag, I'd prefer it actually be one of their antique trunks!

  8. I love old trunks. I have an old wooden one I found for a song that I sometimes use as a coffee table.

  9. All of those trunks are so gorgeous! My Mum has one that she inherited from her Grandma, which is leather half covered in old travel stamps and stickers. Cant wait till I can talk her into giving it to me!

  12. Oh I totally agree.

My nana has given me a very big carved wooden chest from England. It's hundreds of years old apparently. I just adore it ... if only it could talk.

  13. Hi Leigh, these are again great pictures!
I also have an old trunk from my great-grandfather, and use them as a shoe cabinet ... Sometimes I imagine what was hidden in it?

  14. Leigh, I second that. I love that they have substance, history & yes, storage. I like a coffee table that you can put your feet on or not worry about coasters. My parents bought a beautiful copper topped table & my dad practically stands over it when you are at their home, to make sure no one puts a glass or plate near it. It's lovely, but not very user friendly, if you get my drift! Hope your week is off to a great start ~ xx

  15. Thirty years ago, when I was a very young mother, I preferred trunks as coffee tables. Still love them as such today. Storage and elegance in one!

  16. I love the Chinese camphor wood trunk with the lilacs on top. Beautiful timeless look. We have had so many customers purchase these from us and decent antique ones like this are getting hard to find.
