What are we doing on this beautiful Saturday? We're starting the Annual Agapanthus Dead Heading Harvest - we only have about 10,000 to do (yes you read right).
(last year)
Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, enjoy!

The only upside to that is you'll be outside all day..and sleep well tonight! Happy dead-heading..Rx
ReplyDeleteHoly cow ... my gosh Leigh! My thoughts are with you...make sure you have lots of tea breaks, though nearing the end it may have to be something stronger.

Just about to do this myself also. But only have about 1,000. Can handle the agapanthus just not the incredible amount of mozzies we have atm.
ReplyDeleteHave fun and know that you're not alone ;-)
omg ... I cant believe you said 10,000!
ReplyDeleteWow ... just remember to slip, slop, slap!!
I will be thinking of you Leigh ... happy gardening!
xx
I love, love, love your site. I visit it daily for a dose of beauty!! I live in Florida, so our seasons are opposite yours. I adore agapanthus though I dont have many. I'd love to have more but the deer love them even more than I do and have pretty much eaten them all.
ReplyDeletehahaahaha Leigh
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness.. 10,000 agapanthus to dead head!!! You're on your own with that!!. maybe next weekend you can lay under that dreamy net and read.. or do nothing!! Have fun xx Julie
Wow that dead heading sounds like quite a process. Do you use the spent flowers for anything, or does it just help the flowers to bloom once again?
ReplyDeleteI will be visiting a few favorite stores tomorrow in search of a bed for my daughter's room.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Kat :)
Um, I have one in a pot and it never blooms. Now that it has spent a "historic winter" on the back porch, I think it's end has come. But 10,000? Crazy, wonderfully, crazy.
ReplyDelete10,000! I love Agapanthus but to my great sorrow...I have no luck with this plant...I'm not sure what I've done wrong...perhaps "over-loved" it?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment...
Wish I could talk Mr. B into a road trip to visit your beautiful country! Alas, he says if there is no way to drive his truck there...he's not going...so I dream...with the help of your beautiful photos!
Sandy
You are going to be a busy bee! Have fun and I always love your pics that you share! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWOW, I'm blown away!! That's incredible.
ReplyDeleteYou'll definately sleep well tonight!!
Wow, that sounds like quite the day. Good luck and I hope it goes quickly. :)
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness. Thinking of you with your harvest!!! OUCH!
ReplyDeleteMOTH's up the ladder in the bathroom & I'm cutting tiles & being yelled at. Want to swap?

Lovely images - I'll take #4 thanks :) Good luck with your garden tasks (and I thought deheading our few agapanthus was a big task!!) x
ReplyDeleteHoly agapanthus stalks! Any complaints I have about my humble garden are simply juvenile after reading this post (I just planted some the other day). Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHope that the "beheading" went well :-)
